Make sure it’s level with the notebook and its pages. Your phone’s camera may have trouble scanning the page if it’s tilted at an angle. Just like holding the device steady, if your notebook is shaking too much, your phone’s camera can have trouble focusing. Put your notebook on a counter, table, or other solid object.ĭon't try to hold your notebook while you scan it. You can also try resting your elbows on the table to steady your phone. You'll see pop-up text that reads "moving too much" if this is the issue. Sudden movements, both small and large, can interrupt the scanning process. Similarly, a solid black background always works best. If your notebook is on a patterned background, try moving it to a plain surface and re-scanning the code.

Patterns on a tablecloth, rug or wall can sometimes confuse your camera’s auto-focus feature and prevent the page from scanning. Turn on more lights or open the window shades and try scanning the page again.

While you do have the option to use your flash when scanning a Rocketbook page, bright lighting is important, and a naturally lit page will often scan better than one scanned using the torch. If all of the above check out and you are having issues scanning your Rocketbook pages, please run through the below troubleshooting: Ensure that you're not scanning from too far away- if you do, the app will have difficulty finding the page.Ensure that the entire page, including the black border, fits inside your phone screen.
